Gisele Bundchen opens up about her near-death experience

Gisele Bundchen has opened up about her near-death experience.

The supermodel detailed the terrifying incident that occurred 25 years ago in Iceland to late-night host Jimmy Fallon.

The 43-year-old appeared on The Tonight Show to promote her new cookbook Nourish: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body and Feed Your Soul.

In a game called True Confessions, Gisele played host Jimmy Fallon and fellow guest Wayne Brady and shocked them when she dropped the bombshell.

The model was given two envelopes – one featuring a lie about herself and one featuring something true, with both other players trying to decide the real answer.

Gisele picked the second envelope and read, “I did a photo shoot on a fake iceberg in Iceland, and I almost fell off into the ocean,” which both players guessed was false.

However, the story was actually true and the shoot was for the fragrance Oxygene.

The host asked her what year the incident took place, and Gisele answered either 1997 or 1999.

She added that she almost fell into the freezing water and said she “would have been dead in seconds” if she had.

“It was for this fragrance called Oxygene. You got to Google it. You can see it actually. It’s on the internet. It’s called Oxygene was the name of the fragrance,” she said about the campaign that actually took place in 2000.

“So the whole thing I was supposed to be in this slip dress while everyone was like in a boat — like, all the crew was in a boat with like huge puffer jackets and life vests,” she said.

Jimmy also told a story about how he was hit by a car the night before hosting the MTV Movie Awards, and while Gisele and Wayne both thought it was fake, it was actually true.
