Gilmore Girls star reflects on the death of her friend Matthew Perry

Lauren Graham has opened up about the sudden death of her friend and beloved actor, Matthew Perry.

The actor, best known for playing Chandler Bing in the iconic US sitcom Friends, was found dead at his home in LA in an apparent drowning, on October 28.

The actress, best known for starring in Gilmore Girls, revealed that she was still “in shock” over the death of the her late friend when she appeared on CBS Mornings segment on Thursday.

The pair first worked alongside each other in Aaron Sorkin’s series, Studio 60, back in 2006.

They then went on to co-star in the 2008 film Birds of America, and later reunited for an episode of Matthew’s show, The Odd Couple, which ran from 2015 to 2017.

They maintained a close friendship in the following years.

The Friends actor even included photo of them together in his memoir, captioned “Me and the beautiful Lauren Graham.”

The 56-year-old actress referred to Matthew’s success with his memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, and revealed how proud the actor was of the book.

“It was a success that gave him a level of happiness that I hadn’t seen in him for a really long time, so that’s a nice memory.”

“That’s something to be thankful for, and again, the book really meant something to him, so it was a really happy year for him,” the Gilmore Girls alum added.

The actress opened up about the close friendship she shared with the star and told audiences that she was still “in shock” over Matthew’s sudden and tragic passing.

“I am still in shock. I mean, it’s a really tragic loss, and he leaves his beautiful work behind.”

She continued: “No one made me laugh as hard. Just tears, streaming. There was just such joy in being around him and being his friend.”
