George Clooney just made a pretty penny by selling his tequila company for an eye-watering price.
The actor and his partners Rande Gerber (Cindy Crawford’s husband) and Michael Meldman have sold Casamigos to British beverage company Diageo for a staggering $1billion.
“If you asked us four years ago if we had a billion dollar company, I don’t think we would have said yes,” he told E! News in a statement. “This reflects Diageo’s belief in our company and our belief in Diageo. But we’re not going anywhere.”

The company, which the pair founded in 2013, is very close to George’s heart, and he insists that the sale does not in any way mean that he is parting ways with it.
“We’ll still be very much a part of Casamigos,” he insisted, adding, “Starting with a shot tonight. Maybe two.”
George added to Us Weekly: “We remain committed to our brand and look forward to our future with Diageo and continuing our work with our dedicated and passionate Casamigos team.”
It’s an exciting time for the movie star, who became a father for the first time earlier this month when his wife Amal Clooney welcomed twins Ella and Alexander.
