Friends creator explains why there will NEVER be a reboot of the show

The co-creator of Friends, Marta Kauffman has revealed why she thinks there will never be a reboot of the series.

It is one of the most-loved TV shows – with their first episode airing in 1994 and their final episode in 2004, over an impressive 10 seasons and 236 episodes.

The 62-year-old creator spoke to Rolling Stone magazine about why a reboot won’t happen and said: “One, the show is about a time in your life when your friends are your family. It’s not that time anymore.”

She continued to note that reuniting the cast which included Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox and David Schwimmer wouldn’t be the same: “All we’d be doing is putting those six actors back together, but the heart of the show would be gone.”

“Two, I don’t know what good it does us. The show is going just fine, people love it. A reunion could only disappoint. ‘The One Where Everyone’s Disappointed,'” she joked.

The much-loved comedy was added to Netflix for a whopping $118 million in 2015.
