Former Nickelodeon star Josh Peck breaks silence on Drake Bell’s abuse and Quiet on Set docuseries

Former Nickelodeon star Josh Peck has broken his silence on Drake Bell’s abuse and the Quiet on Set docuseries.

Investigation Discovery’s Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, is a four-part docuseries that made claims about toxic workplaces for child actors and crews on the Nickelodeon series that Dan Schneider wrote and produced.

Josh is best known for his work on Drake & Josh which he co-led alongside actor Drake Bell.

In the third episode of the series, Drake Bell, the star of Drake & Josh named himself as the John Doe victim in Brian Peck’s sexual assault case.

Dan Schneider whose alleged torment and humiliation of the cast and crew on set is a main focal point of this documentary also spoke about the series.

The producer told how Drake had to attend the sentencing hearing for Brian and saw that the convicted predator’s side of the courtroom was filled with supporters.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Dan added: “A lot of them [were] pretty famous. Of course, Drake was devastated that that happened. And even more disappointing, 41 of those people wrote letters for Peck’s character, letters praising him for who he was and asking for leniency.”

Some of the famous faces who sent character references for Brian into the courtroom are James Marsden, Taran Killam, Rider Strong, Will Friedle, Ron Melendez and the late Alan Thicke.

In an Instagram post shared on Thursday, Josh Peck admitted he “took a few days to process” the docuseries.

“I reached out to Drake [Bell] privately, but want to give my support for the survivors who were brave enough to share their stories of emotional and physical abuse on Nickelodeon sets with the world,” he wrote.

“Children should be protected. Reliving this publicly is incredibly difficult, but I hope it can bring healing for the victims and their families as well as necessary change to our industry.”

The post came after Josh received some backlash online over a TikTok he posted amid the release of the documentary.

However, Drake Bell showed support for his former colleague and reassured fans that Josh did reach out.

In a TikTok video Drake told fans: “Processing this and going through this is a really emotional time and a lot of it is very, very difficult,”

“So not everything is put out to the public. … But he has reached out to talk with me and help me work through this and it’s been really, really great.”
