Erika Jayne has hit back at claims her divorce from Tom Girardi is a “sham”.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star filed for divorce from the 82-year-old attorney in November last year, after 21 years of marriage.
On the latest episode of the hit reality show, the singer got emotional when discussing the reports about her high-profile split.
Speaking to her co-stars Kyle Richards and Lisa Rinna, she said: “This sucks so bad. The things that are being said are just wrong.”
“People are believing [the allegations] and they’re everywhere and it’s terrible. I’m here, by myself, and what’s being said, I mean, it’s insane that my divorce is a sham. But nobody cares about the facts.”
In her confessional, the 50-year-old added: “Divorce is very painful and then having it called a sham is even more painful.”
“It took a lot of courage to leave and it took two seconds for some a**hole to say it was a sham and for everybody to believe it.”
When asked about the embezzlement lawsuit facing her and her estranged husband, Erika replied: “I don’t know why I would be named in a lawsuit, I have nothing to do with.”
“When I filed this divorce, I was a gold digger… This week you’re a conspirator. I mean, what the f***? And neither one of them are true,” she continued.
Becoming emotional, the mother-of-one admitted the public scrutiny and speculation was “depressing”.
Expressing fear over her financial situation, the reality star explained she had “more lawyers than I can afford”.
“People think that Erika Jayne brought down Tom Girardi. Tom Girardi brought down Tom Girardi. I don’t want his actions to absolutely kill what I have created.”
“I fear starting over. The only thing I have is my name and the hope that this is not where this ends for me,” she added.
Since Erika filed for divorce in November, Tom has been caught up in a lot of legal drama – and is currently facing numerous lawsuits.
A month after their shocking split, Tom and Erika were sued for allegedly using their divorce to embezzle money.
In December, Tom and his law firm Girardi & Keese (GK) were held in civil contempt over allegedly embezzling funds from several families who lost loved ones in a 2018 Boeing plane crash – and had their assets frozen by a judge.
The former couple’s legal controversies recently played out in a new documentary titled ‘The Housewife and the Hustler’, which premiered on Hulu on June 14.
