Roe V. Wade was overturned in America on June 24, 2022 – eliminating women’s constitutional right to abortion.
This decision leaves it up to individual states to decide whether to allow abortions there, and will most likely lead to all but total bans on the procedure in nearly half the country.
The 6-3 ruling, which will completely change the landscape of women’s reproductive rights in the US, has sparked outrage worldwide.
After the ruling was revealed on Friday, a host of famous faces shared their grief over the decision online – including Michelle Obama.
Major celebrities like Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Alicia Keyes and Kim Kardashian have now condemned the ruling on social media too.
In a heartfelt tweet, Harry wrote: “I’m absolutely devastated for the people of America today. Check on your friends. Look after each other.”
“We’re all in this together, and the fight is just beginning. A truly dark day for America.”

A truly dark day for America.

It is truly unfathomable and disheartening to have to try to explain to my 11 year old daughter why we live in a world where women’s rights are disintegrating in front of our eyes.
