Amy Schumer opens up about ‘really tough’ IVF following fertility issues

Amy Schumer has opened up about her experience with IVF, admitting she found it “really tough”.

The actress welcomed her son Gene last February with her husband Chris Fischer with the help of vitro fertilisation, following the couple’s fertility issues.

Speaking on a forthcoming episode of Sunday Today with Willie Geist, the comedian admitted that she was considering surrogacy if deciding to expand their family.

”We did IVF and IVF was really tough on me. I don’t think I could ever do IVF again,” the mother-of-one admitted.

“I decided that I can’t be pregnant ever again. We thought about a surrogate, but I think we’re going to hold off for right now.”

Speaking about her son she said: ”Life is so much more beautiful. He’s the best thing in my life.”

In her documentary titled Expecting Amy, the 39-year-old tracked her first pregnancy, as well as her struggle with hyperemesis gravidarum – a severe pregnancy side effect.

Amy previously thanked her followers for sharing their personal IVF stories, writing on Instagram that she wanted to “send love and strength” to all “warrior women”.

On the latest episode of Goss Chats, Goss.ie Founder & CEO Ali Ryan sits down with beauty guru Mark Rogers.

From his upcoming wedding to surrogacy plans, Mark opens up about a hectic few months ahead.

#GossChats is sponsored by top Irish aesthetic clinic Haus of JeJuve.
