Amanda Seyfried has opened up about bullying she suffered when she was younger.
The 32-year-old told i-Magazine “I was made fun of at school for being pale and ugly.”
The mum-of-one has struggled to manage obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and panic attacks too.
“I feel like I become darker as I grow older,” she remarked.
She revealed that other people speaking helps to calm her and said, “I’m always listening to podcasts and audiobooks, memoirs… it’s a bit of a meditation, but it also reminds me I’m part of a greater community.”
“I don’t edit myself as much as I should,” she remarked in relation to self-censoring.
“But it makes me feel better at the end of the day that I’m not being fraudulent or withholding.”
“It’s how you fight an image – you don’t let anybody put you in a box.”
Despite the bullying, she began modelling at the age of 11 and was 15 when she began acting.
She had her first roles on the soap operas As the World Turns and All My Children.
