Saoirse Ronan has revealed she had no idea the Golden Globe nominations were even happening when she got a nod for her role in Brooklyn.
The Carlow actress, who is already tipped to be receiving an Oscar nomination for the same role, told Ellen DeGeneres on her chat show, that her phone kept going off and she was getting really “annoyed”.
Giving Dublin salon Tropical Popical a MASSIVE plug both the actress and Ellen repeated the name of the salon as she spoke about her experience.

Before the episode broadcast, Tropical Popical owner Andrea Horan told Goss.ie producers of the show had called her asking to use their image with Saoirse.
“They rang to say they have Saoirse on and they asked if they could use the picture from our Instagram from when she got the news about the Golden Globes nomination,” Andrea said.
