TV3's soap Red Rock still 'losing viewers consistently' as station axes two shows

It was a hit with viewers at the beginning, but it seems interest in TV3’s soap Red Rock is dwindling.

The soap opera, based in a fictional Dublin town and focused on a Garda station, has lost almost half its audience since the first episodes in January.

According to the Irish Sun the show is now down by 47%.

And while viewership figures are falling for the drama, two new shows Jason Byrne’s Snaptastic Show and The Algorithm presented by Ray Foley have both been axed.

Comedian Jason’s chat show only lasted three episodes and The Algorithm only last four.

However a TV3 spokesperson told the paper they are happy with viewing figures.

“Red Rock is averaging 175,000 viewers (11 percent share) and consolidated ratings of 225,000 (13 per cent share), which is really good.

“The consolidated audience of ‘Red Rock’ is a brilliant result.”
