Simon Cowell lined up for Ireland's Got Talent promo

Producers of Ireland’s Got Talent are still hopeful their show will find its way to RTE and have already lined up Simon Cowell for the promos speaking Irish.

While RTE bosses have already announced a new season of The Voice for next year – sources say Ireland’s Got Talent could still be on the cards.

“It could be somewhere else in the schedule. All that’s been ruled out is The Voice of Ireland slot next year,” an insider said.

The media mogul has offered to promote the series by making a cameo for the talent show.

“Simon wants to come over and see what Ireland has to offer. He thought it would be a lot of fun to share a panel with Louis Walsh again,” they told The Sun.

Reportedly the X Factor judge is even going to speak Irish in the promos to encourage local talent to audition for the series.

“Simon offered to help in any way. He really wants Ireland’s Got Talent to happen,” they said.

RTE have declined to comment on whether or not they are in negotiations to air Ireland’s Got Talent.

Insiders have rubbished claims that the format has already been tried with the All Ireland Talent Show.

“Ireland’s Got Talent fronted by Louis Walsh would be in a different league from the All Ireland Talent Show which had John Creedon, Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh and Dana as judges,” an insider said.

“Louis Walsh coming off X Factor, the biggest show on the planet, would attract entertainers who would never go near an Irish talent show with a barge pole.”
