Rachel Wyse on Sky Sports: 'I kind of pinch myself because I'm really lucky where I am'

Sky Sports presenter Rachel Wyse admits she still pinches herself about how lucky she is to be working for the biggest sports channel.

The 30-year-old broadcaster has settled into life in London and doesn’t seem to want to return home anytime soon.

“Who knows what’s going to happen in the future and in terms of coming home, I just don’t know,” she said.

The Blackrock native remains modest about her amazing career and relishes the fact that she works in such a successful TV station.

“I work in one of the busiest sports newsrooms in Europe, they’ve access to some of the best sporting events in the world so I kind of pinch myself because I’m really really lucky where I am,” she added.

Sky Sports began airing the GAA last year and Rachel was the perfect fit for the bill and although she was met with some criticism, she is hopeful at staying with the company.

“Who would have thought five years ago they would have sent me to cover the All-Ireland final in Croke Park and things like that?,

“So, hopefully, a few more doors open in Sky, I’d love to stay there,” she told The Herald.

The former model will be spending more time in Ireland over the summer to cover the GAA matches but reveals she plans to stay living in the UK.

“I love living in London and I feel I’m settled into my working life as well,” she said.
