Love/Hate star Laurence Kinlan reveals he DOESN'T want the show to return

Love/Hate star Laurence Kinlan has admitted he doesn’t think the RTE crime drama should return.

The broadcaster has already confirmed that Laurence and his fellow actors will not be returning to screens this year – however there is still a possibility of a 2016 series.

However, the Dublin native admitted that the show already went out on such a high, he doesn’t think they could top it.

“I just think it’s gone out on such a high and it’d just be nice to leave it there,” he said.

“It’d be nice to be remembered as one of the greatest things we’ve done here.”

“The selfish part of me, work-wise and loving doing the show, goes ‘Yeah lets do it again’,” he admitted.

Laurence divulged he would hate for Love/Hate to return – only to then be slated by the viewers.

“But I’d hate for it to come back, do the series and people to go, ‘Ah, what the f**k did they do that for, that’s s**t?'”

Risk: The actor reckons fans might not enjoy another series | RTE

The actor also revealed another reason the show may not return is creator Stuart Carolan being so exhausted at the end of each series.

“If Stuart really put his mind behind it it’d be amazing and of course you’d want to be a part of it,” he told The Star.

“I just don’t think they’re all prepared to go back to that – I think you’d have to create too many new characters to build the gang up again and I just don’t think they will.”
