There’s even MORE Oscar buzz surrounding Lenny Abrahamson’s new movie Room – after just scooping the Best International Film Award.
The Irish director won at the British Independent Film Awards, and beat some stiff competition.
Room was up against some serious movies, with many Irish stars involved in each movie.
Lenny’s movie beat the heart-wrenching documentary about Amy Winehouse called Amy, Ex Machina starring Domhnall Glesson, 45 Years, The Lobster which starred Colin Farrell and of course Macbeth which was led by Michael Fassbender.
Roon already nabbed the prestigious People’s Choice Award at the Toronto Film Festival.
The film, which is based on Emma Donoghue’s best-selling novel, has had major Oscar buzz with insiders tipping the movie for a Best Film nomination.
