Saoirse Ronan has opened up about working with Ryan Gosling in his directorial debut Lost River.
The Irish actress stars in the highly-anticipated film, and admitted working with The Notebook actor was easy, revealing he was very supportive.
“He was brilliant, he’s a very smart guy,” she told Goss.ie.

“He was really easy going and really supportive. He really believed in us all and every choice that as being made,” she added.
Starring alongside Christina Hendricks,Eva Mendes and Matt Smith, the movie follows  a single mother who enters a dark lifestyle after facing economic difficulties.
Speaking about working with Ryan as a director, writer and producer, Saoirse said the star was always on her side.

“There were times when something that was an integral part of the script the was essential for the movie to move on to the next stage and he would ask me if I was okay with it,” she told Goss.ie.
“If I didn’t want to do it I didn’t have to and these were integral parts of the story that he was willing to change for us.
“That was pretty amazing, I’ve never seen that before,” she admitted.

“It was interesting to see the way he worked.
“He knew the film he wanted to make but we didn’t necessarily go in everyday and know exactly what we were going to shoot or how the scene would be set up.
“It kept us on our toes,” she added.
