Ryan Tubridy has opened up about his friendship with Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan.
The Late Late Show host had the Carlow beauty on recently and admitted she’s one of Ireland’s greatest talents.
“I love Saoirse Ronan. I’ve gone for a pint with her after the show last time,” he told Goss.ie.

“We get on great. I’ve been talking to Saoirse since she was one or something. She’s just one of those great talents.”
Speaking about the crop of rising Irish talent in the arts, the broadcaster said it was a proud time for the country.
“There’s something good happening in Ireland – Fassbender, anyone called Gleeson, obviously Saoirse and all that,” he told Goss.ie.
“Then in literary circles, the writers and the books coming out, it’s a fertile time for things – it’s a happy time for creativity.
“I think we have a lot to be proud of and excited about. You know in Ireland, [people] say ‘you’re crap’ but we’re not, we’re doing really well,” he added.
