An American version of Love/Hate will be set in Hawaii.
The popular crime drama has been comissioned by US network Showtime – the company behind Homeland and Ray Donovan.
Speaking to Boston Magazine, Dennis Lehane, the Irish-American author of Mystic River and Shutter Island, confirmed he was asked to adapt the Irish crime drama for the network.

Showtime have asked for the series to be set Oahu, the third largest Hawaiian island.
The paradise island is a perfect hub for tourists, but is known for having drug problems, particularly with crystal meth.
