Lenny Abrahamson has opened up on his Oscar nod, revealing the nomination was very “satisfying”.
The Irish film maker is up for Best Director for Room and has said the moment he found out he was nominated was indescribable.
“I was kind of nervous but it was really about Brie and hoping she would get the nomination,” he said.

“When they were doing the director part, I was looking at my laptop doing a couple of emails.
“It’s a feeling I cannot describe. It was a pretty amazing moment. It’s really satisfying,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.
“It gets your movie to more audiences and in that case, your peers, other directors are seeing the work.”
