Money: College students are looking for wealthy sugar daddies to help them out

The website aims to set up “sugar babies” with “sugar daddies” or “sugar mommies” who will provide for them financially in exchange for dating and companionship.

Figures released by the site reveal that 9,024 Irish college students are now members of the service, up from 6,000 less than two years ago.

Spokeswoman Angela Bermudo said the average profile of an Irish sugar daddy is a 45-year-old who earns an average of €325,231.

Meanwhile, nearly one in four of the Irish sugar daddies are married with most living in Dublin, with smaller numbers in Limerick, Cork, Galway and Waterford.

“Women are unfairly labelled ‘gold diggers’ if they are vocal about wanting to pair up with a successful partner,” Angela said.

“The upfront nature of our arrangements – being able to lay out exactly the type of person and relationship you want, without fear of judgement or stigma from potential partners – is empowering.”
