Pippa O’Connor has banished recent reports that Irish bloggers are making a mint, describing the claims as “complete bull”.
The 31-year-old runs her own blog Pippa.ie, and has gained huge success over the past few years through blogging and her Fashion Factories, but doesn’t believe that some social influencers can charge hundreds for a single sponsored tweet.
“I don’t know about everyone else, but that’s not how I do things anyway.
“It’s all completely exaggerated. By no means are bloggers absolutely loaded,” she said.

Although the mum-of-one revealed that she is constantly approached for endorsement deals, she doesn’t just take every offer that comes around for the sake of the cash.
“I’m contacted all the time and I am offered ‘Oh will you post this for X amount’ and I’m like, ‘That’s not really what I want to do’.
“I want to work with brands and do campaigns and do things properly. I think if you’re flogging yourself out for a few hundred euros here and there, it looks cheap and you won’t have any longevity.
“So I don’t do anything like that because I don’t think it’s worth it in the long run.”

Despite saying that she doesn’t personally use sponsored tweets and the like to make money, she would never criticise anyone that did choose to do that because “everyone has to make money”.
“I wouldn’t diss anyone doing that either, because everyone has to make money, so I can totally understand if the opportunities are there.
“But I kind of do my own thing, so I don’t know what anyone else is doing – or what anyone else is charging or getting,” she told the Herald.

The model mum, who is currently pregnant with her second child, also stressed that her blog content stems from her, rather than a group of people in an office.
“I’m not a big massive operation with 10 people in an office. So everything that’s up there comes from me. When I think of it like that it’s great because it’s all from me, and not a team of people.
“I’m really happy with it. It’s the best decision I ever made,” she added.
