Alan Hughes reveals he's landed a role in an Irish soap

Alan Hughes is set to make his soap debut in Ros na Run.

The TV3 presenter has landed a role in the Irish language soap as part of his Challenge Alan segment on Ireland AM.

The TV star is set to film his soap debut in a few weeks but admitted that his Irish is “atrocious”.

“I am going down to Connemara in a few weeks’ time to appear on Ros Na Rún,” he said.

“I never did Irish in school and my Irish is atrocious so the challenge is that I would have a part on the show speaking fluently.”

“We are going down to film that on February, 15 so that is very soon,” he told RSVP Magazine.

It comes after Alan was revealed to be making almost €1 million from his panto roles.

The Ireland AM presenter proposed to his boyfriend Karl Broderick live on the show with the pair set to get married this year.
