Aidan Turner: 'I'll strip for Poldark if it's in the books'

Poldark star Aidan Turner has admitted he won’t refuse to strip off for his BBC role – that’s if the book states it.

The Dubliner became an overnight TV heartthrob for his turn as Ross Poldark in drama – revealing he’ll go with whatever the novels say.

“If it’s in the books I’ll do it,” he said.

The 32-year-old, who received the Impact award at the National Television Awards earlier this week, opened up about the attention his toned torso gets.

“I never knew it was going to become the thing it became. It wasn’t the worst thing that ever happened to me,” he told the Mirror.

Although becoming the object of many’s affections, the actor revealed he still doesn’t get recognised on the street.

“I’ve never been recognised on the street before. People shouting Poldark at me,” he explained.
