Michael Fassbender has spoke out on why he thinks his movie Steve Jobs didn’t do well at the box office.
Despite receiving positive reviews from critics, the film has failed to attract audiences and has only grossed $28 million, less than it’s $30 million budget.
The Irish actor said he thinks movies need to be a big “event” for audiences to go and see them.

“I’m not sure why people go to see certain films over others,” he said.
“A lot of times, it helps if it’s an event of some sort. You have to see that film at the cinema.”
“There are a lot of options. People work very hard, long hours, come home and they have good home entertainment centres.”
“But I have no idea to be honest,” he told The Wall Street Journal.

The Kerry native is up for Best Actor at the Academy Awards and revealed the excitement never goes with age.
“It was a lot of fun last time. I was there with my family – my parents and my sisters,” he said.
“I got to meet a lot of idols and heroes. I don’t think it ever changes, the excitement and being honoured like that.”
