EXCLUSIVE! Chloe Agnew set for US stardom as she lands role in new movie

Chloe Agnew has revealed that she is set to star in an American movie this year.

The daughter of performers Twink and David Agnew performed with the hugely successful group Celtic Woman for a decade but now she’s ready to branch out on her own.

The Dublin native opened up to Goss.ie and explained that now that she’s gone solo, there’s a whole other world of opportunities she wants to pursue.

“I have got my first role in a small independent movie in the states which is really cool. I’m going back to shoot that in February,” she said.

“It’s a comedy-drama. The music took over for such a large part of my life and I lost touch with acting.

“Moving on from Celtic Woman there’s a lot of things I want to explore again.

Speaking at Dublin’s Mespil Hotel ahead of her performance at the National Concert Hall on January 16, Chloe revealed that she’s currently working on a solo album.

“That’s in the works. I’ve been writing a lot of my own material and I’ve been experimenting with different genres and different sounds,” she told Goss.ie.

“I haven’t settled on one yet which is why I have held off on the album. It’s been over twelve years since I did my last solo album so whatever I do next has to be special. I’m taking my time with it.”

With former Westlife star Nicky Byrne recently announced as this year’s Irish entry in the Eurovision, Chloe revealed she hopes he can bring back the glory to Ireland.

“Nicky is a great guy, he’s a sweetheart and a great talent so fingers crossed,” she said.

“Ireland hasn’t done well for a while and for a national that really led the Eurovision for so long, I hope we can bring it back to that place again. I wish him all the best in the world.”

Although she wishes him the best, Chloe admitted she’s not sure the Eurovision would be right for her.

“Eurovision is an incredible tool and it’s created great acts before but I don’t know if it would be for me.
