BBC bosses have confirmed that the third series of The Fall will be the show’s last.
The crime drama starring Jamie Dornan and Gillian Anderson has been a big hit with viewers and critics alike.
It has been confirmed that the 50 Shades of Grey actor will be returning for the final season as serial killer Paul Spector.

The series 2 finale ended with a major cliff hanger with Paul and Gillian’s character Stella Gibson badly wounded by a rouge gunman.
The third season will consist of five episodes and a host of new actors will be joining the ensemble including Ruth Bradley, Ailing Bea, Richard Coyne and Aidan McArdle.
Meanwhile, several fan favourites have also been confirmed to return including John Lynch, Valene Kane, Stuart Graham, Bronagh Waugh and Aisling Franciosi.

 “I’ve been on a very exciting journey over the last five years with Stella Gibson and Paul Spector – the central characters of The Fall – and I’m thrilled to have recently started filming the third instalment of their macabre, obsessive dance of death,” series creator Allan Cubitt said.
“Gillian and Jamie have lived and breathed those characters during that time and I’ve been incredibly well-served as both writer and director by their stellar performances.”
“Obviously I don’t want to give anything away about how the third series will end but I can say that I am looking forward to working with both Gillian and Jamie again in the near future!”
