Tributes pour in for First Dates Ireland star and nurse Judy Fitzgerald – who has died aged 32

Tributes have poured in for well-known fitness model and nurse Judy Fitzgerald, who has sadly died at the age of 32.

The Limerick native, who appeared on First Dates Ireland earlier this year, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 27.

The model, who had over 109k followers on Instagram, was crowned Miss Bikini Ireland in 2014.

Judy, a graduate of nursing at University College Cork, also worked on the frontline as a midwife during the pandemic.

Since the news of her death broke, tributes have been pouring in on social media.

In a comment on her last Instagram post, Rosanna Davison wrote: “Rest in peace Judy ❤️.”

Fellow fitness model Caroline Hoban also commented: “RIP Judy I was honor to be part of ur journey for couple years , rest in peace beautiful ❤️🙏🏼 will miss ur texts.” [sic]

An online condolence book has also been opened, where family and friends have been paying tribute to Judy.

Jenny Dixon and her husband Tom Neville were among those to express their sympathy, writing: “So so sad to learn of Judy’s passing. She will be missed by all very much.”

“Our sincerest sympathy to the Fitzgerald family and friends. May she Rest in Peace.”

Judy is survived by her parents Liam and Imelda, sister Lucy, brother William, brother-in-law Pedro, and a large circle of friends.

According to RIP.ie, a requiem mass will take place on Thursday at 12pm in St Nessan’s Church, Raheen followed by burial in Castlemungret Cemetery.

Her funeral mass will also be streamed online for those who can’t attend in person.
