Louis Walsh apologised to Ray D’Arcy on last night’s episode of The Ray D’Arcy Show, after suggesting that the chat show host was “axed” in the past.
After Ray asked Louis about being fired from ITV’s The X Factor before being asked to come back, Louis retaliated by claiming that the TV host had suffered the same fate.
“Hey! You were axed too, you were axed too! But then you came back and got your own TV show,” laughed Louis.
However, Ray didn’t take Louis’ comment kindly, as he responded, “I don’t think I was axed, actually.”

Defusing the awkward tension, Louis then said, “You left then, sorry Ray,” before Ray quickly changed the subject.
During the interview, Louis also revealed that he turned down a big money offer from I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here producers in order to return to The X Factor.
“I was offered I’m a Celebrity, the jungle thing, and I was nearly going to do it because they were dangling a lot of moola, you know. I thought, ‘Maybe I’ll do it’. I’d have been a right twat but it would have been a good way to go out on TV.
“Then Simon said, ‘Don’t do it, I want you back on the show’, so I went back,” he added.
