Zara McDermott has defended her boyfriend Adam Collard, after he got into a huge bust up with Ferne McCann.

The Love Island star reportedly got into an argument with Ferne after the National Television Awards, after he overheard her badmouthing his girlfriend Zara.

The reality stars got into a heated disagreement, which ended with the TOWIE star throwing her drink in Adam’s face – which lead to him reportedly filing a police complaint.

Breaking her silence on the incident, Zara shared a screenshot of an abusive message she received online, and wrote: “Getting sent tweets like this. Imagine someone threw alcohol in your eyes…what would you do?? If you had done nothing wrong and you simply stood up for someone who was being bullied.”

The Love Island star continued to express her frustration by writing, “All I’m saying is…if it were to be the other way round and he launched a glass at her face, it would be a completely different story, #doublestandards. You can’t go around launching cups at peoples heads and think it’s ok.”

However, a spokesman for Ferne has since told the MailOnline: “There is absolutely no truth to the vile allegation that Ferne threw glass.”

“Ferne has instructed lawyers in relation to false claims made about the events of that night.”

Their alleged feud started when Zara accused Ferne of contacting Charlie Brake while he was still in a relationship with her best friend Ellie Brown.

The TOWIE star denied the claims that she dated, or contacted Charlie while he was in a relationship.
