Ringo Starr, the former drummer of The Beatles, was knighted by the Duke of Cambridge during a ceremony at Buckingham Palace yesterday.
The musician was being honoured for his services to music during and after his time in the Beatles.
Ringo told the BBC, “It means a lot actually, it means recognition for the things we’ve done. I was really pleased to accept this.”
The Beatles are recognized as one of the first rock bands and one of the most popular bands in the world. Ringo Starr along with band members John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison all hail from Liverpool, England.
