Prince William has dropped a hint about the name of his newborn son.

The Duke of Cambridge and his wife Kate Middleton welcomed their third child on April 23rd – but the royal couple have not yet revealed their baby boy’s name.

However, Prince William appeared to drop a hint about the name he and Kate have chosen for the new brother of Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The father-of-three visited Westminster Abbey for an Anzac Day service yesterday, alongside Prince Harry and his bride-to-be Meghan Markle.

When speaking to Australia’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Alexander Downer, it was suggested that he should call his baby boy Alexander.

Raising eyebrows, William replied, “Well, it’s funny you should say that. It’s a good name.”

Fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the new Prince’s name, and the most popular names so far seem to be Arthur, Albert, James and Phillip.

William also gave an update on how Kate and the baby were doing following the birth.

“They’re very well, thanks,” he said, before adding, “Sleeping’s going reasonably well so far, so he’s behaving himself which is good news”.
