Elton John has paid tribute to his mother after her funeral.
Last month, the legendary singer revealed that his mother, Sheila Farebrother, had died aged 92, shortly after he had rekindled their relationship following a feud.
Taking to Instagram, Elton penned an emotional goodbye to his late mum.
“Dear Mum, today’s funeral was perfect. Having the service in the family chapel and attended by your brother and sister brought us all comfort. Having the service where Nan lived out her final days brought you and your Mother back together again,” he wrote.
“Tomorrow your friends will gather separately to say their good byes. I’ve chosen all the music so everything will be just right. Thank-you for bringing me into the world and for all that you have done for me. Love, Elton #RIP,” he added.
Earlier this year, the 70-year-old revealed that he had rekindled his relationship with his mum, writing on Instagram, “Dear Mum, Happy Mother’s Day! So happy we are back in touch. Love, Elton xo.”
In March 2015, Elton’s mother Sheila claimed that he “hated” her in an interview with the Daily Mail.
Their feud apparently started over a “petty” argument, when he asked her to cut ties with two of her oldest friends, Bob Halley and John Reid.
