The Crown have finally released the first look at Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip.
The Outlander actor is taking the reins from Matt Smith, to play the older version of the Duke on the hit Netflix series.
The news comes after photos of Olivia Colman playing Queen Elizabeth II and Helena Bonham Carter playing Princess Margaret were released in July.
However, fans were left waiting two more months until Tobias’ picture was released.
In the photo, the actor can be seen wearing an evening dress suit, adorned with medals and a blue sash.
Fans are extremely happy that Tobias is playing the Queen’s husband, and took to Twitter to show their support.
One twitter user wrote, “Oh my god the level of makeup is spectacular! Truly cannot wait!”
While another simply wrote, “He’s perfect.”
He looks perfect, and you nailed this casting. Can’t wait to see him on-screen! #TobiasMenzies #TheCrown
