Love Island bosses warn cast about bullying – after ‘bitchy behaviour’ prompts Ofcom complaints

Producers have been forced to step in

Love Island producers have reportedly stepped in to warn contestants about bullying, after their behaviour prompted hundreds of Ofcom complaints.

According to The Sun, producers entered the villa earlier this week for a “briefing” with the Islanders.

It’s believed bosses were particularly keen to speak to Amy Hart, after she previously reduced Lucie Donlan to tears.

A source told the newspaper: “There has been a lot of backbiting and bitching this series and the producers realised viewers were starting to really notice.”

“So earlier in the week the execs came into the villa for a ‘briefing’ with the contestants and told them they were to rein it in.”

“The message seems to have been ignored by them all given their behaviour on Tuesday night.”

In a statement, a Love Island spokesperson added: “We speak to all of the islanders to remind them of what we condone to be acceptable behaviour during their time on the show.”

The news comes after Amber Gill and Anna Vakili’s behaviour during Tuesday night’s episode prompted nearly 200 complaints to Ofcom, following their confrontation with Danny Williams.

The girls were accused of acting “immature” and “pathetic”, as they lashed out at Danny for dumping their friend Yewande Biala from the villa, and kissing Arabella Stanforth just two hours later.

Although their behaviour was largely criticised, many argued that the pair were simply sticking up for their pal.
