The RTE 9 o’clock news went viral for the most random reason.
During a segment with a political correspondent, located in Washington, Sharon Nà Bheoláin was seen speaking to Washington DC correspondent Brian O’Donovan.
Clearly using a screen in the background to show an image of the White House, it seemed someone else was trying to use Netflix instead.
During his segment, viewers all over the country could see his screen change to the Netflix home screen.

While most were talking about the hilarious blunder, Monday night was also a very important landmark for RTE.
For the first time, an all female line up hosted the RTE Six One News, with Caitriona Perry and Keelin Shanley going on air together for the first time.
