Roz Purcell planned to be a politician before giving up on dream for modelling

Roz Purcell has admitted she had dreams of becoming a politician – and even studied the subject in college so she could enter the political arena.

The Tipperary beauty revealed she had plans to enter the political world so she could become an advocate for human rights.

She said: “My secondary school was great for debating and they always encouraged us to enter competitions.

“I wanted to get into politics to become an advocate for human rights. I went onto study politics in University College Dublin.”

While the TV star may have no plans to become a politician herself these days, she admitted she might lobby a few politicians about health issues.

“I’m really into cooking for children and educating them on what’s in their food and I think that’s where politicians and I could chat about.”

The former Miss Universe Ireland also revealed she is sick of being asked about her relationship with The Voice star Bressie and thinks it is sexist that he doesn’t get the same questions.

“I’m always the one asked about it; he never really gets asked that much about it and it makes me feel why is the woman always the one that’s drilled about it,” she told Ireland AM.

“I’ve established myself completely separately where as it is a bit harder now because people will go ‘Oh that’s Bressie’s girlfriend’ and I’m like no I actually have done something myself long before that.”
