Ronan Keating wishes his late mum got to meet his new girlfriend Storm

Ronan Keating has admitted he wishes his mother got to meet girlfriend Storm Uechtritz before her death.

The Boyzone star lost his mum Marie to breast cancer in 1998 – and has teamed up with the Australian to raise money for the Marie Keating Foundation.

Now the 37-year-old – who set up the foundation after her death – has said it is “very sad” that Storm and his beloved mum never got to meet.

“It’s amazing to have Storm with me. She’s obviously a really important part of my life and it means the world to me that she supports the Marie Keating Foundation,” he said.

“It’s obviously very sad she never got to meet Mam but this way we can both honour her memory.

“Storm is like my partner in crime. She just supports me 100% in whatever I do and that’s really helped me to get back to a really happy place. I hope I can support her as much as she supports me.”

And Storm admitted she is delighted to be able to help Ronan – and has learned more about breast cancer from him.

“Even as friends, Ro and I knew we shared a passion for fighting cancer and so when we started dating in March 2012 it was a natural progression my getting involved in the family foundation,” she told the Mirror.

“I found this altruistic side of Ro incredibly endearing. Before I met Ro I probably wasn’t as diligent as I am now but after learning so much about breast cancer through the foundation, checking my breasts is now part of my regular regime.

“I’m more aware of my body than I’ve ever been and am not shy to visit the GP if anything is mildly out of whack.”

The Marie Keating Foundation are looking for unwanted bras – and they will receive €1 for each item.
