Niall Horan has just made HISTORY in the US, by becoming the first artist to debut at number one on the Social 50 countdown.
The Mullingar native released his debut solo single This Town just last week, and it looks like he’s already smashing records.
The Social 50 chart is powered by data that’s tracked by music analytics company Next Big Sound – which ranks the most popular artists on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Wikipedia, Tumblr and Vine.
Solo success: Niall has already made history as a solo artistÂ
Niall surpassed his former 1D bandmate Zayn Malik, who went solo last year, and debuted at number three back in February and peaked at number two on the Social 50 countdown.
This Town was also named as the highest debut on the mainstream Billboard Hot 100 chart on Monday, entering the countdown at number 63.
