Laura Whitmore has been moved by the reaction her essay, which detailed her experience of sexual harassment, has received.
The powerful piece of writing was something she felt afraid to write for a long time as it divulged her personal experience of being sexually assaulted in a nightclub last year when a stranger put their hand up her skirt and groped her.
She also shared her thoughts about how the media treats women, viewing them as objects to be “shagged”.
The TV presenter took to Instagram to thank everyone who helped her in publishing the piece and express her support for everyone who had experienced sexual assault.
“Yesterday I published a very personal article. I hadn’t intended to publish it, it was something I had written just for myself initially, but realised I needed to.”
