Frank Kelly has revealed that Father Ted leading man Dermot Morgan harboured great resentment towards RTE.
The much loved Father Jack has told all about the comedian’s relationship with the broadcaster and their alleged treatment of him.
“I am glad to know that his private life was a happy one, because I know from numerous conversations with him that his work life was a tortured one,” Frank wrote in his memoir.

“He harboured great resentment against RTE, and one executive in particular, for preventing him from making the best use of his talents.”
Dermot suffered some setbacks during his time working with the station, including their refusal to air his sketch show Get Morganised and the cancellation of his quix show Newshounds, while they also axed his award winning radio show Scrap Saturday.
“Dermot Morgan was a truly driven man. He always had several balls in the air at the one time, which gave him a constantly preoccupied air,” Frank wrote.

RTE later erected a joker’s chair in memorial of the TV star after his death in 1998 at age 45.
It comes after Frank recently revealed that he is living with Parkinson’s disease after being diagnosed earlier this year.
