EXCLUSIVE! Lucy Kennedy reveals why it means so much that her children enjoy Ireland’s Got Talent

Lucy Kennedy told us why it means so much to her that her children enjoy Ireland’s Got Talent.

The presenter chatted to us at the launch of the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards and revealed that she watches the talent show each week with her family.

“With everything that I’ve presented, from Living with Lucy to even Radio Nova in the mornings, Ireland’s Got Talent is the only show that my children actually watch and like,” she exclusively told Goss.ie.

“They have no interest in anything else that I do. So it’s really nice, on a Saturday we kind of go across to Tesco, get loads of junk, sit down together on the couch and yeah, it’s become like family viewing.”

The presenter said that she loves that her three children, Jack, Holly and Jessica, can see what she does for a living: “I love it and I love for them to see what I do, because they just see me giving out, doing homework, with my Marigolds on. Like a taxi driver, cook, just a general slave; so it’s nice for them to see what I do and I love that they love it.”

As for Lucy’s predictions for the final of Ireland’s Got Talent, the presenter thinks that her Golden Buzzer choice are going to win.

“Well my money is on my Golden Buzzer, that is Sharon and Brandon, mother and son. There wasn’t a dry eye in The Helix, I was pathetic. I was sobbing on the side of the stage and the second they started to sing I was kind of panicking thinking like ‘where is my microphone?'”

“I thought that Denise was going to go for them so I ran out and I pressed the buzzer. So I think my Golden Buzzer will win, put your money on them. They’ve had the most hits on YouTube which is a good sign.”

The 42-year-old also revealed what she thinks is so special about the talent show: “I just love the idea of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.”

“We had a mum who was told her whole life that she could sing, she was way too nervous to do it. In her late sixties she got up and sang for the first time on front of a live audience, on front of her family, cameras, me, the judges. I love the fact that it’s just normal people doing such big things you know.”

Ireland’s Got Talent airs every Saturday at 7:30PM on Virgin Media One.
