EXCLUSIVE! It's War of the Women as Norah Casey's traveller series beats Amanda Brunker's new reality show

Two of Ireland’s most popular TV personalities have gone head-to-head on the silver screen.

Former Dragon’s Den star Norah Casey unveiled her new show Norah’s Traveller Academy on RTE, while Amanda’s Danger! Amanda At Work aired on TV3 both at 9pm last night.

And it seems the first round goes to Norah, after figures revealed exclusively to Goss.ie show the business woman had more viewers.

Over 119,000 people tuned in to see Norah help women in the travelling community start their business careers while only 76,000 people watched Amanda’s reality show.

With 43,000 more viewers than Amanda Norah’s show has proved a success already, with a positive reaction from viewers on social media networks.

“Eye opening episode of @NorahCasey #travelleracademy very powerful!Well done to @traciejoyce24 & all involved I’ll be watching every week,” one viewer wrote.

Fish trawler: Amanda had a tough job on the first episode

While other social media users defended Amanda’s reality series.

“Was watching #AmandaBrunker on telly earlier,” one viewer wrote. “She’s got a lot of haters but she seems like a nice person. I like her.”

Speaking to Goss.ie Amanda said Norah deserved the higher ratings.

“Fair play to Norah. I look forward to watching it myself. It’s a great idea… Norah has been working on that slot for a couple of years now,” she said.

“It was obvious she would have a bigger audience. I’m very proud of my show. Those who watched enjoyed it – looking forward to next week.”

Amanda recently revealed she thought people were going to “hate” her new TV3 show.
