Ellie Goulding has finally addressed the relationship rumours surrounding her and Niall Horan – admitting she did date him.
Reports about the two being an item began when Ed Sheeran penned his hit Don’t about an ex cheating on him with a friend which was rumoured to be about Ellie and Niall.
“I did go on a few dates with Niall, but I was never in a relationship with Ed [Sheeran],” she said.

“I have absolutely no idea where that came from and why it was turned into such a big thing.”
Speaking to Elle magazine, the blonde bombshell gave her side of the story opening up about how she feels women in the music are constantly defined by the men they date.
“I find it so frustrating that female musicians are constantly defined by the men they have or haven’t dated,” she said.
“It’s something I’ve talked about with Taylor (Swift) a lot. She definitely feels that,

“She gets bothered by it. It’s like, you can be a great artist, you can write great songs, but the thing that everyone is going to talk about is some relationship they think you have had or not had,” she added.
“It’s definitely something we both think happens to female artists over male artists.”
Meanwhile, Ed has moved on previously revealing he’s over the women who cheated on him in his song.
“I guess. I got over the anger the moment I wrote the song,” he said.
Regardless of both Ed and Ellie commenting on the matter, Niall has still remained tight-lipped on the situation.
