Bookies bid for Conor McGregor statue in Dublin

Conor McGregor has become one of Ireland’s International heroes in the past few years, and now bookies are bidding for a statue to be erected in his honour in Dublin.

The MMA fighter, who became the undisputed World Featherweight Champion earlier this month when he defeated José Also in 13-seconds at UFC 194, could indeed be seeing himself as a statue figure in 2016.

BoyleSports are backing that a statue will be erected of The Notorious in Dublin in 2016 at 33/1, and the odds look pretty good for this to actually happen.

“Ireland rallied behind Conor McGregor, supporting him from home and abroad, travelling far and wide to get behind the now Featherweight Champion,” said Aoife Heffron, PR Executive for BoyleSports.

“It is undeniable that McGregor is an Irish legend and like ones gone before him, the best way to pay homage to him is in the form of a statue which is 33/1 to be erected in Dublin in 2016.”

Aside from statues, Conor is set for a hero’s welcome in January as a Civic Ceremony is set to be hosted by the Lord Mayor at Dublin’s Mansion House in his honor.
