The Daily Star have apologised to Niall Horan over an article they wrote about him last year.
The paper published a story on the One Direction star that insinuated he may have been taking “hard drugs”.
The Mullingar native was pictured alongside fellow pop stars Justin Bieber and Cody Simpson with a suspicious looking pipe that looked like one that can be used to consume drugs.

The publication’s article titled “1D New Drugs Storm: Niall pictured with Breaking Bad-style pipe” caused considerable criticism and now the Daily Star have apologised.
“We accept that the implication was not correct and that Mr Horan had not consumed any hard drugs,” they said in a statement.
“We apologise to him for any distress we may have caused.”
