The trailer for I Am Heath Ledger, a documentary and the late actor’s life, has finally been released – and it will give you serious chills.
The film will include never before seen footage of the late Australian actor, which was mostly shot by himself, as well as touching tributes from his friends, family and colleagues.
In the clip, Heath’s former model girlfriend Christina Cauchi says, “There were always cameras around, a video camera, a Polaroid camera or the film camera. That’s the only way I think of him.”
Meanwhile, director Ang Lee says “even as a supporting actor – he will always steal the show. That’s the power of Heath Ledger”.
The trailer also touches on his iconic role in Brokeback Mountain, and referred to his battle with fame, revealing that he wanted to be in the limelight, but once he got there – he wanted it all to go away.
Heath, who was best known for his portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight before he died, passed away on 22 January 2008 after he accidentally overdosed on prescription drugs.
I Am Heath Ledger will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival later this month, before being released to select theatres on May 3rd.
