Robert Pattinson has been using his good friend Katy Perry to “lean on” in wake of his recent split from fiancé FKA Twigs.
The 31-year-old actor is said to have turned to the 32-year-old singer shortly after it was reported Rob initiated the split.
The Twilight actor and the singer made their last public appearance as a couple at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival back in May.
A source explained to E! News, “Their travel schedules took a big toll on the relationship. Robert is the one who ended it.”
“They bought a house together but then it was just not working out between them. “She moved out.”
The insider added, “They still have love for each other.”
According to reports, Robert was spotted getting “extremely affectionate” with longtime friend Katy Perry in early August during a dinner outing in Hollywood.
Although reports suggest that Robert and Katy are ‘flirtatiously romantic’ in their communication, a source told E! News they are just close pals and intend to stay that way.
“Rob has been leaning a lot on Katy since his split with FKA Twigs. They talk on the phone regularly and make sure to see each other when they both aren’t away working.
“Katy has always been a good friend to Rob over the years and has been there for him emotionally. They have many common interests and also both know how to have fun and party.”
“Although they have been flirtatiously romantic, they have still remained good friends. Rob loves that Katy is a free spirit and she has given him good advice when it comes to relationships.”
Katy is currently touring the world with her Witness show, but is still in contact with the Twilight star via “FaceTime and text whenever possible”.
