Shanina Shaik has broken her silence on her involvement with the Fyre Festival.
The Victoria’s Secret model was paid to promote the luxury music festival which was a complete disaster and scammed thousands of people out of money.
Netflix recently released a shocking documentary Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened and Shanina admitted that she was very upset after watching it, she said: “I cried when I watched it.”
The 27-year-old told: “It is really horrific what happened. The girls and I were just kind of dragged into it. We would never want to promote something like that or take someone’s money.”
The VS model promoted the festival on her Instagram account and appeared in a commercial for the event which was filmed in the Bahamas.
The 27-year-old appeared alongside other models including Hailey Baldwin, Bella Hadid and Alessandra Ambrosio in the commercial.
Despite being involved in the scam, Shanina defended her agent, she said: “When a client comes to my agent and has a vision or a project they want to work with us on, my agency always makes sure we are protected and looked after.”
