Logan Paul returns to YouTube after ‘suicide forest’ controversy

The controversial vlogger returned with a 'suicide awareness' video

Logan Paul has returned to YouTube and finally addressed to backlash to a controversial video he posted, in which he filmed the body of a suicide victim in Japan.

The video sparked serious backlash online, which led to YouTube cutting business ties with Logan – who has over 16 million subscribers on the platform.

The daily vlogger removed the video from his channel, and posted two apologies before tweeting on January 3rd, “Taking time to reflect no vlog for now see you soon.”

Yesterday, Logan returned to the platform with a video about suicide prevention. “I know I’ve made mistakes,” Logan says in the video, “I know I’ve let people down.”

The 23-year-old went on to explain that he’s spent the last three weeks trying to address his ignorance about the issue of suicide, and now he wants to share what he has learned.

The video opens with Kevin Hines, a man who once jumped off the Golden Gate bridge, who gives a first-person account of his suicide attempt.

The video also features a conversation between Logan and Dr. John Draper, the director of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

In the video, Logan also pledges to donate $1 million to suicide prevention organizations.

“It’s time to start a new chapter in my life as I continue to educate both myself and others on suicide,” Logan says. “I’m humbled and thankful to say this is just the beginning.”
