Katy Perry has denied claims that producer, Dr. Luke (Lucasz Gottwald), raped her.
The producer was accused of sexual assault by Kesha in 2014, and Katy became involved in the case after the 31-year-old reportedly texted Lady Gaga stating that the Hot n Cold singer was also raped by Dr. Luke.
The rumour regarding Katy allegedly came from Interscope Records CEO, John Janick.
However, a partially unsealed deposition obtained by E! News, has since revealed that Katy denied the producer ever raped or sexually assaulted her.
Within the deposition, the 33-year-old was asked if the producer had raped her, to which Katy responded: “No.”
She was then asked if he had ever sexually assaulted her and the singer said: “Absolutely not.”
The singer also stated that she had no sexual or romantic relationship with Dr. Luke and that the statement reportedly made by John Janick was “not true.”
Both Dr. Luke and Kesha’s attorneys recently sent E! News statements regarding the trial.
The producer’s attorney stated: “When Dr. Luke did not agree to her contract terms, Kesha maliciously plotted to destroy Dr. Luke’s business and reputation to pressure him to give in.”
Kesha’s statement said: “Dr. Luke’s litigation strategy has been straight out of the blame-the-victim playbook, intended to humiliate and intimidate Kesha into issuing a retraction of her statements.”
